Wow-you guys are really cool! We did the Wizard of Oz theme last year, but lacked enough family members to have the Wicked Witch. I'm thinking that a space theme is in the cards for this year's Halloween extravaganza. We already have an astronaut costume on hand.

The tube was completely constructed. I started with wooden embrodery hoops and connected them with a few vertical slats. The outside was covered in white posterboard and painted. The nose cone was made from various size funnels and the tail fins are just cardboard. I constructed the rocket in two parts so it is easier to get in and out of the costume. If you click through the links you'll see a picture with the rocket in two parts. The cost wasn't exhorbitant, but it does take time to create.

Where did you find the huge cylinder for the rocket? Because I have a Church camp that is outer space themed and I wanted to make that. It is such a great idea. And did it cost a lot to make that? because I kind of am on a low budget.
